Meet the Doctors

Raised in the Flint metro area and an esteemed graduate of Flint Powers High School, Dr. Kasey Stark is a testament to dedication and excellence. She was selected for the prestigious Accelerated Seven-Year Dental Program at the University of Detroit Mercy right out of high school. While in her undergraduate studies, she was also captain of the Detroit Mercy Dance Team. She secured her Bachelor of Science and further honed her dental acumen at the renowned University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.

Seeking advanced specialization, Dr. Kasey journeyed to Anchorage, Alaska, where she undertook an intensive two-year residency at the NYU Langone Dental Medicine Postdoctoral Residency Program. Beyond her formal education, Alaska offered her unparalleled experience, as she educated pediatric dental residents as a faculty member at the Alaska Medical Center and contributed significantly to the Alaska Cleft Lip and Palate Program. These enriching years in Alaska have imbued Dr. Kasey with a unique set of skills in pediatric dentistry.

Dr. Kasey met Dr. Alex of Kids Tooth Team, Texas while in residency. Together, they have expanded Kids Tooth Team to Michigan. Kids Tooth Team, Lake Orion is a clinic designed around the needs of your kiddos, ensuring they receive gentle, state-of-the-art care in a welcoming environment.

Beyond her clinical commitments, Dr. Kasey balances a wholesome life enriched with outdoor activities, including hiking and skiing. Alongside her husband Chase (also a distinguished dentist), their daughter Penny, and their loyal 180 lb. Mastiff, Lebowski, Dr. Kasey is incredibly excited to take pediatric dentistry in Michigan to a whole new level.

A dedicated member of the Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and both the Michigan Pediatric Dental and Dental Associations, Dr. Kasey is passionately committed to ensuring that the children of Michigan receive the very best in dental care. Born in the Caribbean paradise of Puerto Rico and raised in sunny South Florida, Dr. Ian Rodriguez brings warmth and energy to every appointment. His natural charisma and genuine passion for kids make him a favorite among little patients and parents alike.

Dr. Ian began his academic journey at the University of Central Florida, earning his bachelor's degree in Biotechnology with a minor in Biomedical Sciences. From there, he headed to Utah to complete dental school at the Roseman University College of Dental Medicine. His experience as a youth camp counselor gave him a head start in managing the care of pediatric patients and reignited his passion for working with kids. That passion led him to pursue a pediatric dental specialty right here in Michigan.

While completing his residency at the Children's Hospital of Michigan, Dr. Ian had the opportunity to work alongside Dr. Kasey. It didn't take long for her to see that his values were a perfect fit for Kids Tooth Team.

When he's not in the office, Dr. Ian loves hitting the hiking trails, camping, and snowboarding. On Sundays, you'll find him hosting football watch parties, firing up the grill, and cheering on the Lions with his fiancee Daisy (also a dentist!) and their two dogs, Bruno the Berner and Nala.

Dr. Helen Yuan was born in Canada and grew up in Spokane, Washington. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California (USC), and in 2016 earned a Master's degree in Global Health from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), writing her thesis on early childhood dental decay in Nepal. She returned to USC to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2021, then completed a General Practice Residency at the Palo Alto VA Hospital and Stanford Hospital joint program in 2022.

During dental school, Dr. Helen spent much of her free time with USC's Mobile Clinic program, which sparked her love for pediatric dentistry and working with kids. After her residency, she worked at a primarily pediatric dental practice in California before matching to her top choice, Children's Hospital of Michigan, for her pediatric dental residency. That's where she got to know Dr. Kasey, and where her path to Kids Tooth Team Michigan began.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Helen loves to stay active. You'll find her playing ultimate frisbee, rock climbing, throwing pottery, traveling the world, sampling delicious food, and enthusiastically petting other people's dogs.

Dr. Ayah Koleilat grew up in North Dakota, and made her way to Michigan right after high school and never looked back! She earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology at the University of Detroit Mercy, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and went on to complete her dental degree at the Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2019.

Dr. Ayah's deep passion for serving others, especially children, led her to pursue additional training in pediatric dentistry. She completed her residency at the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York, and is now a board-certified pediatric dentist.

Dr. Alexandra Otto is a nationally recognized pediatric dentist, speaker, healthcare executive, and leader in the field of pediatric dentistry. Alongside her husband Tim Otto, she is the co-founder of Kids Tooth Team and Alcan Dental Cooperative, a growing organization dedicated to helping independent pediatric dentists thrive while preserving doctor-led ownership and clinical autonomy.

Dr. Otto continues to practice chairside full-time and serves as Medical Director of Dentistry at Texas Children's Hospital Austin, where she oversees the hospital's dental clinic and leads the pediatric dentist role on the Craniofacial Team. She is also the founder of Kids Tooth Team Outreach, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that deploys a mobile dental clinic to bring free care directly to underserved elementary schools throughout Central Texas, having donated nearly $1 million in dental care to children in need.

A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry, Denver Health Medical Center's General Practice Residency, and NYU Langone's Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry program in Anchorage, Alaska, Dr. Otto is one of the most decorated and decorated voices in organized dentistry today.
